Semester 700 Curriculum Revision Project Seeks Subject Matter Experts
Are you a Mechanic with expertise or interest in control logic and troubleshooting methods? Do you have a passion for education and a desire to help shape the future of the elevator industry? If so, we have an opportunity for you.
NEIEP is looking for part-time, project-based SMEs to help our in-house development team revise the Semester 700 material and author new curriculum, including textbooks, lab activities, and exam questions. We wish to assemble a diverse group of SMEs from around the country who represent different companies and a wide variety of perspectives.
The project will involve some travel to the NEIEP Training Center in Warwick, RI, for group writing sessions. SMEs may also be asked to work remotely or in small groups to advise on topics requiring certain areas of expertise.
All are welcome to apply, and those with the following skills and experiences are especially encouraged:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to explain complex concepts in an easy-to-understand manner.
- Strong organizational and project management skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with NEIEP classroom instruction, curriculum development, or instructional design is a plus.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of NEIEP content and to have a voice in shaping the learning experience for future generations of elevator mechanics.
To apply, please email your resume and a brief statement of interest outlining your experience and qualifications to Brigid Flynn, Writing & Development Manager, at bflynn@neiep.org. We look forward to hearing from you!
